Venkatesh Daggubati was born 13 December 1960, is an Indian film actor known for his works mainly at Telugu cinema. In his 30-year career, he has played in 72 feature films. He has played various roles in Telugu cinema and in two Bollywood films. He has received seven Nandi Awards and six Filmfare Awards.
Together with his brother Daggubati Suresh Babu, Venkatesh is co-owner of Suresh Productions, one of the largest film production companies in India. Venkatesh has appeared in several of his films under his own production company. During a career spanning three decades, he has starred in many commercial hit movies. He has won the highest number of Nandi awards for Best Actor, with seven wins. He is well known for his twinning with Soundarya in seven blockbuster movies. In addition to the films, he is the captain of the Telugu Warriors, representative of Tollywood in the Celebrity Cricket League.
Venkatesh Daggubati was born to Ramanaidu Daggubati, a film producer and former MP and film mogul, in the village of Karamchedu, Prakasam district. He has an older brother, Suresh Babu Daggubati, who runs Suresh Productions, and a younger sister, Lakshmi. Venkatesh was educated at Don Bosco, Egmore, Chennai. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College in Chennai and an MBA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, USA. After returning to India, he wants to get into film production but becomes an actor in Telugu films.
Her daughter Aashritha Daggubati is engaged to the grandson of R Surender Reddy, president of the Hyderabad Race Club.
