Ganesh, born July 2, 1978, is an Indian actor and television presenter known for his work at Kannada Cinema. During his career in movies and television shows, he became one of the most popular celebrities and the highest-paid actors of Kannada cinema. He is the recipient of several awards, including two Filmfare. He became famous after playing in the movie Mungaru Male (2006).
He was born in Adakamaranahalli, Nelamangala, Bengaluru. He belongs to the Vokkaliga family of Bellary, Karnataka. He has two younger brothers, Mahesh and Umesh; Mahesh made his debut as an actor in Kannada cinema with the movie Namak Haraam (2016).
He was educated at the Basaveshwara English School in Nelamangala and graduated from the Standard School in Peenya Dasarahalli, Bangalore. According to Ganesh, he was “mischievous and always obliged to kneel outside the classroom, but was also the teacher’s darling because of his active participation in cultural activities”. He played in dramatic drama between colleges during his studies.
