Mimi Chakraborty is an Indian actress and politician. She is known for her work in Bengali cinema and television. In 2019, she joined politics and applied for the 2019 Indian general election as a candidate for the Trinamool Congress.
Mimi Chakraborty was a model before starting her acting career. She participated in Femina Miss India. Her acting debut was with Champion.
His second project was a soap opera Gaaner Oparey, produced by Ideas Creations. It aired on Star Jalsha from June 28, 2010 to April 16, 2011. Ideas Creations, the production company of Prosenjit Chatterjee, in collaboration with Star Jalsha, launched the mega serial Gaaner Oparey to pay tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth.
His first film, Bapi Bari Jaa, was released on December 7, 2012.
Chakraborty has participated in different ways in Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence (FFACE). In 2014, she unveiled edition 1 of the FFACE Tantra calendar, Park Hotel Kolkata. In the same year, it was part of the conceptual greeting card produced by FFACE as FFACE of DURGA promoting women’s empowerment.
In 2019, she joined politics and contested from Jadavpur Loksabha Constituency in 2019 Indian general election as a Trinamool Congress candidate. She is a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Jadavpur constituency.
